The investigation of architectural design through the installation of a narrative is what the project focused upon. It considered three characters taken from a book written by Oliver Sacks, a neurologist who studies the implications of brain malfunction and its effects on the individuals he investigates. These three distinctly differing characters were then placed within one residence, the focus being on their interactions throughout the day. I wished to create an architectural ethos which allowed this interactive inhabitation to occur. Progressing as they moved from floor to floor, subtle changes in the structure enabled them to intervene within one another’s daily existence. Over time, this process enabled their lives to be measurably improved.
